Lauren’s passion for working with children and their families began at The Canberra Hospital where, for over three years, Lauren worked as an Acute Support Paediatric/Adolescent OT. A key role was to help children increase their independence and safety performing activities of daily living post orthopaedic surgery. The second key role was post traumatic amnesia assessments for children who had sustained head trauma and working with families to help with a safe discharge home. In 2016, Lauren was provided with the opportunity to work in a private practice. Through this experience, Lauren discovered her passion for working with children who have Autism, in addition to working with children who are having difficulties with fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and/or sensory skills. She believes in capturing a child’s strengths and interests to help children and their families achieve goals. She also loves to help children increase their happiness and confidence engaging in everyday activities.
After wonderful travel adventures in 2017, Lauren is excited to return to Canberra and join the Raw and Moore Occupational Therapy team. Lauren and Caitlin have previously worked together in the hospital system. Lauren’s interests include pilates, reading, tennis, playing the flute, laughing with friends and travelling.
